Market Recap For December 10th, 2021
The past few days have seen the market bounce back and forth as the S&P struggles to take out the 4700 area. Friday seemed to finally bring a breakthrough.
Unless there is a complete reversal of Friday’s rally, higher prices should be coming, as all major indices make their way towards new highs.
Yesterday’s Sector Performance
Technology and Consumer Staples were the clear leaders on the day.
Financials and Communication Services lagged the rest of the market.
Five-Day Sector Performance
Technology ended up winning the overall week as well.
Consumer Discretionary finished at the bottom, albeit just barely.
ETF Trade Watch
Technology Select Sector SPDR (XLK)
Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR (XLP)
As markets recovered from the previous month’s decline, Technology exerted itself as the biggest winner, with the XLK now at new highs again.
Consumer Staples was also a consistent market leader, and Friday saw the XLP make a big move through the most recent resistance zone.
Good luck!
